A Hampshire beautician is brimming with pride after being named the best in the country at the UK Hair and Make-up Awards.

Chloe Hill is based at her sister’s award-winning salon, Lauren Hill Hairdressing, in Abbotswood, Romsey.

The talented make-up artist was announced as the winner of the Best Bride Individual (Make-up) at a glittering ceremony at Birmingham’s ICC on Saturday.

Celebrating the outstanding talents and exceptional contributions of hairdressers, stylists, beauticians, and salons across the nation, the awards honour the best in the industry.

Chloe, 26, has been making over brides on their big days since 2019.

Deciding to enter the well-known industry awards on a whim, and up against hundreds of the best artists across the country, she said she was completely shocked to be named as a winner.

Chloe said: “Having had some really positive feedback from the brides I’ve worked with, I thought I’d have a go at entering. I wasn’t expecting to win at all.

“I couldn’t believe it when I heard my name. I had no idea I’d come out on top.

“I’m utterly thrilled and it’s going to take a while to sink in, but I’m so proud.”

Having been a make-up artist for seven years, it was three years ago that Chloe turned her attention to bridal make-up.

She said: “I thought I’d try it out, but I had no idea how much I would love it.

“Being part of a bride’s big day is truly wonderful – it’s always a happy occasion. I wouldn’t want to do anything else now.”

Although based at Lauren Hill Hairdressers in Romsey, Chloe said she is happy to go further afield to make-up a bride on her wedding day.

She added: “I’m happy to travel anywhere in the country, and I’m even looking forward to that first booking abroad.

“To be part of a wedding overseas would be fantastic.”
