Wightlink is set to celebrate the Isle of Wight’s renowned local produce with a weekend event, Beer on the Pier, this Saturday and Sunday (7-8 September) on Ryde Pier.

The event will feature breweries Wight Knuckle and Island Ales, with Shandy Shack and Mermaid Gin also making appearances.

Wightlink’s usual range of refreshments will be available at the Wight Taste outlet inside the terminal.

Island-based Crystals Disco will provide music throughout the weekend, creating a lively atmosphere.

Phil Delaney, Wightlink’s Commercial Director, said: “Summer’s not over yet, so this is your chance to enjoy a drink with spectacular sea views and disco tunes at the end of Ryde Pier. We are proud to sell some of the Isle of Wight’s finest produce and want to spread the word about our suppliers.”

The event runs from 11:00 to 19:30 on Saturday and 11:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.

Saturday will also see a special visit from the Waverley, the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, as it makes its way around the Isle of Wight.

Food lovers are in for a treat with additional events across the island, including the Cider and Cheese Festival at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and the Great Wight Bite festival in Cowes.
