Southampton-based marketing specialists Carswell Gould and logistic service providers Meachers Global Logistics have teamed up to raise £3,616 for local charity Saints Foundation.
The money was raised through a fundraising quiz-night event hosted by the companies at the Ageas Bowl on March 24. Over 100 people attended the event and all funds went directly to the Saints Foundation.
This event featured an auction in which attendees were given the opportunity to bid on items including: a match issue Southampton FC shirt, a cycling shirt signed by Chris Froome, and hospitality tickets to a game at Saint Mary’s Stadium.
Commercial director of Meachers Global Logistics Gary Whittle said: “Meachers has always been committed to helping people in our communities, and the Saints Foundation is a charity that really does achieve that.”
The companies both expressed how proud they were to be contributing to such a noble cause. Gary and Gareth Miller, who is managing director of Carswell Gould, presented the cheque for £3,616 to Olivia Ashcroft and Jazz Bhatti from the Saints Foundation at Saint Mary’s Stadium.
Gareth said: “Carswell Gould is very proud to be a Corporate Patron of the Saints Foundation. The opportunity to raise some money while having great fun at the quiz was fantastic. We’re sure that the money raised will make a real difference to people’s lives in Southampton.”
