Bordon blogger & fashion influencer Debz teams up with Topsy Curvy to design her own plus-size dress

By day she’s Debz Louise, but her many online followers know her as Wannabe Princess – the blogger from Bordon who’s been sharing her tips and experiences in beauty, relationships, business and travel for more than 10 years.

Debz has long been an advocate for body positivity and inclusivity in the fashion industry, and one company in particular had caught her attention as doing things the right way.

Debz Louise“I’ve been a massive fan of Topsy Curvy since Jo (Frost) launched the brand a number of years ago”, she said.

“I’ve often talked about how great it is to have watched them grow into the international brand they are today.

“Their skater dresses have been a massive hit – and when you consider they fit right up to a UK size 38, it’s easy to see why.

“Although plus-size fashion has improved massively over recent years, those above a size 26/28 still often get left behind.”

Debz was delighted, then, when the Manchester brand approached her for their Topsy Curvy x The Blogger Collection collaboration, which would involve herself and three other fashion bloggers – Lucia, Georgina and Kelly.

What did that entail? Designing her very own ‘Debz Dress’, catering to the needs and desires of plus-size women while also expressing her own unique flair.

“The dress itself has been months in the making with different design ideas being floated around and different colour schemes for all the designs that I wanted to do – and there have been many”, Debz explained.

“However, what I was really keen to do was create a dress that could be worn every day, dressed up if people wanted and something that was cutesy and not easy to get in plus sizes.

“Those who know me will know that I absolutely adore raccoons – I met some for the first time last year and it was one of my favourite moments ever.

“Including them on a dress with some other cute forest creatures made my heart happy, and I hope that others like the design just as much.”

Each of the four dresses are now up on Topsy Curvy’s site as part of The Blogger Collection – and for Debz, it marks ‘a significant milestone in her journey as a fashion influencer’.
