With more than 25 years’ experience as one of the region’s top business leaders, Lakbir Singh has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by Solent University.

UKESG logoLakbir is Co-founder and COO of UK Elite Sports Group (UKESG), a business delivering sports training and tours to young people across the country, alongside his duties as Global Head of Special Projects at India Business Group.

Day-to-day he works with public and private sector organisations in the UK, India and beyond – particularly those focused on sports and education – offering business intelligence and operational strategies to help create opportunities.

Lakbir also serves as an advisory board member for the Department of Business and Law at Solent University, regularly delivering interpersonal and business skills sessions, guest lectures, mentorship and workshops, and supporting the university’s international engagement.

His work with students extends to his role at UKESG, where he manages a team helping students into work experience and internships on courses like Event Management, Film Production, Journalism and Global MBA.

Lakbir SinghLakbir said: “It’s a tremendous honour to receive this Honorary Fellowship, for which I’m truly humbled.

“I’m passionate about what I do, and the wider positive impact generated for our students, colleagues, enterprises, and communities.

“I’m a firm believer in delivering results with the highest standard of honesty, dignity, and integrity.

“I remain committed to selfless service to our society, a trait I have gracefully inherited from my late grandfather, Mr Harnam Singh, who dedicated his life to championing education and entrepreneurship in local communities, and leading the positive change we wish to see in the world.”

In 2020, Lakbir picked up a Special Recognition Award at the British Asian Awards for his work promoting sports and education ties between the UK and India.

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce then reached out in 2021 to appoint Lakbir as their Ambassador for South Asian Business Community Engagement, a position he holds to this day.
