Barratt David Wilson Homes’ Southampton division has revealed its chosen charities for 2024/25 – Home-Start Portsmouth and Heartbeat.
Home-Start Portsmouth is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert coordinators who help families with young children cope with the stresses and strains of life, ensuring they have the skills, confidence and strength they need to nurture their children.
“We’ve always been grateful for Barratt’s help and support, and we’re delighted to be chosen as one of its charities of the year for 2024/25,” said Natasha Solanki, fundraising and communications manager at Home-Start.
“Times are really tough for families right now, and without the support of organisations like Barratt, we wouldn’t be able to make sure the early years count for every family so that no child’s future is limited.”
Over in Southampton, Heartbeat helps babies, children and adults diagnosed with congenital and cardiovascular diseases.
The charity supports the work of the Wessex Cardiac Unit at Southampton General Hospital by providing specialised equipment, services and facilities to see patients and their relatives through their cardiac journeys.
“We have a great relationship with Barratt,” said Tina Tolley, head of business and donor development at Heartbeat.
“They’ve supported us for a long time, and we’re delighted that they will continue to do so throughout the coming year.
“Heartbeat relies on the generous donations and fundraising activity of businesses like Barratt Homes, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
James Dunne, managing director of Barratt Homes Southampton division, added: “We’re delighted to be able to continue our support for these two brilliant local charities.
“Our community fund is dedicated to helping local causes that improve the quality of life for those living in the region.”
