The Green Gram logoThe Green Gram community shop in Fordingbridge has already managed to raise almost £6,000 since launching its second share offer last month.

It offers customers refills for food, cleaning products and toiletries to help save on single-use plastic waste.

As reported by Hampshire Biz News, the team are seeking donations for a move into larger, more accessible premises on the high street.

Jo AndersonCommittee member Jo Anderson said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have had such interest and support from the local community.

“We’ve also had donations from Councillors David Millar and Phil Woods, and we’re well on the way to raising the figure we need to make the move to the new shop.

“The share offer is still open for a few more weeks, and we’d love it for more people to get involved with this fundraising project and our future plans.

“With the environment as our key focus and the interest shown so far, we know we can place sustainability at the heart of the community – and the High Street!”

The Green Gram evolved from Gardner’s Zero Waste, a mobile refill shop which Jo launched back in 2019.

This latest share offer marks the next step in her journey.

Shares are priced at £10 each. They’re available to anybody aged 16 and over until midnight on 17th September.

A proportion of the profits will be put towards grants for environmental and social projects in the local area.
