Fareham-based South Coast Insulation Services (SCIS) has acquired Cotswold Energy Group for an undisclosed sum.
Co-founders Jon Bonnar and Robin Hodge will continue to operate a separate division and standalone brand under the ownership of SCIS, while fellow co-founder Aaron Stuart-Kelso is stepping away from the business.
The trio established Cotswold Energy Group in 2018 and have since built an in-house team of accredited engineers offering mechanical and electrical installation services.
Meanwhile, SCIS has grown to become a tier one partner to three of the ‘Big Six’ energy suppliers. With its most recent acquisition, the company is now looking to diversify into additional energy efficient technologies and practices.
SCIS CEO Nicolas Gillanders said: “The importance of the climate emergency cannot be understated.
“We are seeing that reflected in the demand for our services, as homeowners, private landlords and housing providers review the energy efficiency of their properties in light of both this and the cost-of-living crisis.”
The deal to acquire Cotswold Energy Group was led by advisors from the Bristol offices of FRP Corporate Finance, who guided the team at SCIS through the process.
FRP Director Alex Sargeant added: “This acquisition represents a significant expansion of SCIS’ capabilities and services, and we are confident that it will bolster their leading position in the growing home energy efficiency market.
“It’s rewarding to see two complementary businesses come together to benefit from one another’s knowledge and expertise to drive incremental growth.
“It’s been a pleasure advising Nicolas and his team, and we wish them well for the future.”
