Last post for dress shop donations as Romsey shop tries to reunite clothes with owners

Owner Simon Wills opened Change Of A Dress on Bell Street in December 2020, giving locals the opportunity to buy ethically and sustainably with our huge range of nearly new clothing.

They also had a business selling unwanted items of clothing and accessories on behalf of individuals.

Despite being ‘in the heart of Romsey’s fashion district’ the timing around Covid meant Change of a Dress closed it’s doors in early 2022.

Simon Wills struggled through 2022 to reunite people with the clothes they had submitted for sale and the time is running out for those returns.

He said: “We have tried to make contact with our customers to arrange delivery, that’s the preferred method of return as we do not have a counter at the unit we are in.”

He said the business still has ‘stacks’ of people’s clothes – and warned there was only a finite amount of time that he could continue funding the storage of them.

He said: “I am mindful of the customers, it is their clothes, it is not mine to get rid of, but if they don’t pick up their clothes by a certain date then we will have to do something with it all. The business has failed totally. However, we are doing our best.”
